Due to Medical Optics’ sole source agreements with Japanese & German manufacturers of our parts (examples, insertion tubes, chip components, and rod lenses) enable Medical Optics’ to do advanced repairs that our competitors cannot. Therefore, scopes will not be returned back to the customer un-repaired. The advantage is the customer will not be forced to send the un-repaired scope back to the OEM and pay that extraordinary high OEM repair bill and lose uptime in the repair process.

E-SAM Program

Medical Optics has developed a new web based asset management tool called e-SAM™(Scope /Instrument Asset Management). e-Sam™ will allow facilities to log on to our website (password protected) and will provide the following information:

• Review & Approve Quotes

• Review Endoscope Repair History Reports

• View (real time) the status of your repair and when that repair is expected to be completed and returned to the facility

• View pictures of any damage to the Endoscope and a possible cause

FARBTEK Identification system

The innovative FARBTEK™ identification system uses no glues, adhesives or chemicals. It is colourful, safe, biocompatible and offers permanent ID marking. Utilised by medical professionals to ID mark and colourise surgical instruments and medical equipment, our state-of-the-art method can be applied to virtually any stainless steel instrument, part, equipment or component.

Uniquely personalise your surgical instruments in a wide variety of manners, choose from many different options and colour combinations.


Anodizing is an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. Anodizing increases corrosion resistance and wear resistance and provides better adhesion for paint primers and glues than does bare metal. It is also used to prevent galling of threaded components and to make dielectric films for electrolytic capacitors.


Laser Marking

Laser marking is the practise of using lasers to engrave or mark an object.

The technique does not involve toll bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out.


Bead Blasting

Bead blasting is a process of removing surface deposits by applying fine glass beads at a high pressure without damaging the surface.


Instrument Polishing

Is a finishing process for smoothing a workpiece’s surface using an abrasive and a work wheel. Polishing is an aggressive process. It’s often used to enhance the look of an item, prevent contamination of instruments, remove oxidation, create a reflective surface or prevent corrosion in pipes.


Impact Printing

Taylor Surgical using the latest Impact Printer Technology (IPT) that delivers a high level of quality through its precision, simplicity and versatility.

The Impact Printer Technology (IPT) has the ability to mark two-dimensional Data Matrix barcodes (as small as 1mm wide) as well as marketing symbols (numbers, text, logo's and graphics) on a range of medical equipment. Essentially enabling better patient safety and an affordable way to improve tracing and tracking methods involved in inventory processes.
